I am trying to buy a car, but the this guy sold the car with the title in his name to another person and the person friend bought it from him and now he is trying to sell it to me but the car is still in the first guys name what do I need to do to get the title in my name?How to change the title of car.?
If you are in the same town or area as the original owner on the title, you could meet with him and have him sign the title to you. It's in his name still and can say he is selling it to you and is no record of the other two.
Or if that's not possible, take the title to the court house and explain what happened, they may be able to do a title search or contact the original owner, and get it signed in person or by mail, or possibly cancel the title and make a new title to you.
