Car title changing help?

My dad and I are both on the title of my car. We got in a fight about it and he told me if I take him off the title i can have my car back. How do I change it.

1. Do I need him there with me

2. Does it cost anything

3. Do I need to bring anything with me other than money and him?Car title changing help?
It depends on the state whether or not you need him there with you. If the title has an %26quot;or%26quot; in between the two names, you do NOT need him there with you. If it has %26quot;and%26quot; between the two names, or nothing at all, the you will need him to sign the title before you take it to the DMV/courthouse/tax office. Since you are only removing a name from the title, you shouldn't have to pay taxes, but there will be a fee involved. In my state, it's $10, but it will vary by state. I would take a copy of your insurance and registration with you just in case. They'll give you a form to fill out, you pay your fee, and they'll issue you a new title (can take 6-8 weeks). Good luck! :-)Car title changing help?
If the title states you %26quot;and%26quot; his name, he needs to be there to sign off of it. If the title states you %26quot;or%26quot; his name, you can have it removed at the DMV office. I would suggest having your Dad sign a paper stating that he is aware and agrees with this, to avoid a hassle. This is assuming there is no money owed on the vehicle. Car title changing help?
HAVE HIM SIGN OFF OF THE CAR AND TAKE IT TO D M V AND THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF IT FOR YOU FOR A LITTLE $
