Car Title Changed?

My dad bought an old car before he passed away. I've always been told that he had his name and my name on the title. I recently got the VIN and have found out that the car is no longer in my dads or my name. Instead it was put into my aunts name when I was around 7 years old, which was quite a few years after my dad passed away.

If his name %26amp; my name was on the title, how could my aunt change the title to her name? I know that my mother (guardian) did not give her permission to take the car, since she always told me it was my decision as to what happened to the car %26amp; she's helping me try to find out how to get the car now.

If my dads name was only on the title, shouldn't I still have gotten the car with me being his only child? As far as I know there was no executor of estate because he had nothing of value. If anyone whould have been executor of estate, it would have been his mother, but she started telling me about this car when I was around 10 (said my name was on title)Car Title Changed?
There are several things. First it sounds as though you are a minor, if so you cannot have the car titled in your name. Second did your dad have a will, if so what did it say, if not dit the estate go through probate? the answer will be in one of those two places.ppCar Title Changed?
Ask your aunt about it. If your name was on the title and you were a minor at the time, I'm not sure what the law would be. If it wasn't willed to you, you might not have any claim to it. When your dad died, the car had to be retitled.Car Title Changed?
1. Your statement %26quot;he had nothing of value%26quot; is false. The car itself was something of value.

2. Why do you care? The car is so old now that it is practically worthless anyway.Car Title Changed?
Hello,

We often take for granted what a convenience our cars are. I was paying a low price for my insurance, but at renewal time, my insurer tried to increase my rates.

My friend sent me a link to this site:

http://www.mortgage-and-rent-assistance.org

They have a free search to compare auto rates from the major insurers. It saved me a lot of money!

Best of Luck
