Ok, my grandfather is giving me his car but he want to put the title in my mom's name.

The car can be put in your Mothers name. Gramps has to fill out the %26quot;sellers%26quot; portion of the title, Mom has to fill out the buyers portion, then she will go to the DMV and get a new title. All the answers I read left off one important fact. You said you wanted to sell the car to carmax and get something else. You can't sell the car to anyone because the car is not yours it's your mothers car. make sure mom comes with you she will have to trade the car or sell the car.
