How to change the title of a vehicle, when bought privately used in Ontario, toronto area?

I'm going to buy a car in Toronto area..

It's a little different from where i am from (manitoba)

I don't want to put a insurance on it because i don't want to drive it yet, it's going to be my project car. What forms do i need and how do i get it, and can i leave it un-insuraned and just change the title, because i heard it's illegal to not get your car insuraned at all times, Thanks. How to change the title of a vehicle, when bought privately used in Ontario, toronto area?
In NY, a car need only be insured (with liability minimally) if it's registered. If you purchased a project car, and aren't planning on putting it on the road for awhile, I'm guessing it won't need to be insured. Bring the signed title (from the previous owner) to your local DMV, and you should be able to get one for it. Any forms should be available there as well. How to change the title of a vehicle, when bought privately used in Ontario, toronto area?
You can get insurance for 30 days, get the car transfered into your name in Ontario. You'll get a plate, with a temporary sticker on it ($10). After that, cancel the insurance and don't bother getting the yearly plate sticker until you are ready. It's illegal to park a car without plates on driveway
